Songlist from Next 2011

This past weekend I had the privilege of leading the singing at the 2011 NEXT conference in Orlando, FL, along with the Na Band and Generation Letter. For some reason they keep letting me hang out with the young guys. Don’t mind that at all.

This year’s focus was understanding how Christ transforms the way we look at the world. The speaker line up included D.A. Carson, R.C. Sproul, Jeff Purswell, Kevin DeYoung, Scott Oliphint, Vern Poythress, and others. Great messages that really stretched my mind and fed my soul. I came away with a fresh understanding of how Jesus Christ is Lord of all. It doesn’t matter what the area of life is — art, reason, philosophy, science, medicine, music, politics, or business — everything is held together and ruled by Jesus Christ. As Abraham Kuyper put it, ”There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!’”

For that reason, we sang songs that emphasized the sovereignty of Christ and our appropriate responses of gratefulness, awe, trust, and submission. We introduced a number of songs from our recent Risen album, enabling me to highlight that Jesus is indeed a living and reigning Savior.

Thanks so much for posting this!! Do you happen to know the name of the song when Shane and Shane led on Monday night in which the verses followed the form “You are _____ (more, King, God, etc), You are __________ (more, King, God, etc)”? I can’t find it anywhere!!

Bob, would you consider posting the prophetic song for those who have lost a parent? I was very impacted and blessed, and I want to thank you for faithfully bringing what the Lord gives you to speak.

Thanks so much for leading us at Next year after year! worship is always one of the highlights at Next for me. I see you said you are planning on posting your prophetic song for those who have lost a parent; just wondering, will you be posting that other song you sang?

Is it possible to post a list of the songs that were played in the auditorium after the session, just as background music? I think a list was posted last year, but I haven’t found one from this year yet..

Hey Bob, I was wondering if there exists a recording of “Jesus Shall Reign” from the Next Conference? I really liked the Na Band’s arrangement and want to teach our team that version. We’re down here at the Fort Lauderdale church. Thanks for all you do.

I was so moved today by the song you dedicated to the young people @ WG11… please tell me the song & lyrics will be available soon! Also, I was the gal who won the iPad… thank you so much for blessing me and my family! I was a first timer… in ’09 – 2 attendees, in ’11 – 10 attendees, in ’13 even more!   • Bob Kauflin: Actually, the key of A would work fine, Tim. The verse is a little low for guys, but it's soft so it could be fine. Bb would be ideal! But there's no
