All I Have is Christ Animated Video

Posted by: Bob Kauflin In: —Sovereign Grace Music|—Worship and Evangelism|Videos

Chris Powers has been putting together animated videos of Sovereign Grace songs for a while now. The first one I saw was The Prodigal, followed by The Gospel Song.

Recently he put a video together based on the song my son, Jordan, wrote, All I Have is Christ. He sets the song in the context of preaching the gospel in a country that’s closed to the gospel. I found it very moving. Let me know what you think.

If you’re interested, Chris has graciously allowed you to download a high-res copy of the video at Vimeo.

God continues to use that song in my heart over and over and over. and the video is indeed very powerful– especially the part about “You bore the wrath reserved for me…”
may God continue to bring glory to Himself through this added artwork.
thank you, chris…

Have a very close friend moving tonight to just such a country where just such a scenario is possible. This video was especially poignant to me. Thank you. Most amazing scenes: Jesus absorbing the wrath and the disciple running to Jesus at the city gates.

All I have is Christ.

I was so excited to find that Chris Powers made a new video. “All I Have is Christ” is a song very, very dear to me. So thank you Chris and thank you Jordan for encouraging the body of Christ through your creativity. I’m about to forward this video to my entire worship team! Again, thank you both! And thanks Bob for posting!

Wow, very effective. When you said “animated” I was a little fearful the quality would be lacking but these graphics are fantastic. Really brings home the theme of the song. Love it!

Glad to know there are more Chris Powers animations. We just used “The Gospel Song” at Easter, and it was powerful. Thanks Chris, for doing these, and to Bob for letting us know. They are emotive for the right reasons.

I like Chris’ work, and Jordan’s song is wonderful. We use it at our church, and it’s always powerful.

If I make a suggestion, I hope it won’t be out of place. The only studio version of “All I Have Is Christ” (that I know of) is on the Na Band album “Looked Upon,” which is an interesting and creative arrangement – but it’s not one that I think most congregations would actually use in their worship meetings. Even the Sovereign Grace events I’ve attended where this song is used have arranged the song quite differently.

So my suggestion is for an upcoming Sovereign Grace album to feature a studio version of “All I Have Is Christ” that more closely resembles the arrangement used in the live recording featured in the video.

Thanks for listening. :-)

Very good, I especially like the image of Christ taking the wrath of God upon Himself, in our place. Moving.

While I probably won’t ever go outside of this country, I feel it is very appropriate to whatever situation the Lord has us currently enduring. I may not face a firing squad, but the reproach from family and friends because of the gospel can be quite difficult. What a beautiful reminder and visual image…I really needed to see that right now. Thank you.

[...] Hot on the heels of OCF last night, I happened upon this video on Bob Kauflin’s blog. His reflections on NWA were short and simple, but ring incredibly true. It’s an animated video to the song written by Bob’s son Jordan called All I Have is Christ. The content maybe a little bit controversial, but I think it’s drawing on a rather specific scenario, and illustrating the emotions rather poignantly, but surely >> http://www.worshipmatters.com/2011/05/03/all-i-have-is-christ-animated-video/ [...]

Amazing video, and a great song. All we have, or need, is Christ. We are nothing without His shed blood for us, and that is simply all we need to be saved, because nothing else could cover our sins but the spotless Lamb taking our sins upon Himself! What an amazing thought. Praise be to God for sending Christ, and giving us all we could ever need in Him!!!

Thank the Lord for Christ. I came to know him when I was 11. Now I can honestly say I do not fear death. If I were never to reach my 13th birthday I would have no sorrow.
