New Format, Same Blog

Posted by: Bob Kauflin In: —Websites

I’m trying out a new format for Worship Matters that I’ll be working on for the next few days. Of course, if you get Worship Matters by email or RSS, you won’t even notice.

If you have any thoughts in the mean time for things I could add or change, please let me know. Thanks.

Bob, saw you are DG this year. Really enjoyed your talk on worship.

Cant say I like the green colors on the right side. Not sure what to recommend, but the rest looks really good!

I like the new layout. Not only looks stylish, but I like how you can see a number of previous posts as well.

Hm…
The top blue wavy bar makes it look kinda cheesy, me thinks.

I do like the side menus, but a nice professional top picture would help this out alot.

As is, I like the old site better.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Bob,

I like the new blog. WordPress is a good system to work with. I don’t know if you mind a few constructive criticisms, but you might add some spaces after your picture in the about me page, it gets I little hard to read. Otherwise, it looks nice. Also, I don’t know what you use to blog with, but I’ve found adobe contribute to be a wonderful tool to use in conjunction with wordpress.

I appreciate your thoughts always about worship and look forward to continuing to hear your heart!

Pastorkirby,

The mobile version of Worship Matters doesn’t have a search function. Sorry about that.

Hi Bob, just wanted to say I love this blog. It’s become one of my very few must reads online. As far as the new layout, I’m not a big fan but the reasons are purely cosmetic, so it might just be personal taste. I do like how you can see the recent entries and menus without having to “mouse over” to expand- makes it easier. Thanks for a great site.

Different! I like it, although it feels a little less personal… a lot more bloggish…

I did want to say that the home page is being redirected, which is something you may want to know… I get a page for New Attitude http://www.newattitude.org/testimonies when I try to go to worship matters …

I never liked only being able to see one entry at a time on the old main page…so I like this much better.

Lanelle, I think you’re right. It is definitely more “bloggish.” But hey – that’s what it is! It’s going to enable me to make changes more easily, hopefully making it better for serving folks.

Thanks for the comment about the redirect, too. Don’t know what happened last night between about 7 PM and midnight…but it’s fixed now. Thanks for the heads up.

Just for the record, I like the green!

Content is King, of course, but if it don’a look nice…not so many gonna read it.

This looks good to me.

Is it just my laptop resolution or is the main text in grey (sorry, gray! I live across the pond where we spell funny) ? The contrast may not be very good for folks with sight limitations. I have done a wee bit of training on communication with sight-impaired people and I find a lot of websites etc. not very good on this. Otherwise I do like the style. but even more the content!
blessings to you.

It’s easier to navigate and better looking. I hope you stay with it. The only problem I have (and I’m not sure why) is that I can’t leave a comment with Firefox. I have to swith to IE (yuck). Thanks.

Barry, not sure why you can’t leave a comment. I’m on Firefox and it works fine. What version of Firefox are you using? Mac or PC?

I like the design, though I think the rightmost column with “categories” and “archive” could be omitted.
When I use tags, then I click on the tags shown next to a blog post (e.g. this posts’ tag “Miscellaneous”).

The archive is of not much use for me either. Because I don’t remember which month you posted an article, I’d rather use the search functionality.

If this column would be gone, there’d be more whitespace and the site would look a bit more quiet..
