A Psalms CD, a Song Book, and a Few Other Things
Posted by: Bob Kauflin In: —Books|—Sovereign Grace Music
I had hoped to post something on spontaneous songs and choirs this week but never got to it. That will be next week now. I’ve been working on a new songbook we hope to have ready by the WorshipGod conference. It will contain 71 songs from our last six projects. Unlike our downloadable piano scores, which are more like the studio arrangement, our songbooks contain simpler versions that are great for just learning the basic song. Roger Hooper, a member of Covenant Life and an amazing musician and synth player, sends me two staff versions of the songs in Sibelius and then I edit them. It can be difficult to reduce an entire band to a two staff piano score, but it’s a fun challenge.
Also been preparing for the WorshipGod08. Can’t wait for that time. I’ll be talking about it more in the coming weeks. Registration is around 1450 now, about 500 more than it was two years ago. If you’re still thinking about attending, I’d recommend signing up sooner than later.
We’ve also been finalizing the production of the Psalms CD, also due out at the conference. In the mean time, here’s a video we put together from the week we recorded the vocals. Enjoy.
Along with these projects, I have the joy of ministering at the Sovereign Grace church in Richmond this weekend. Looking forward to being with my good friends Gene Emerson and Matthew Williams there. May your Sunday be filled with fresh reminders of the greatness and goodness of the Savior.
