The live CD that I mentioned in a previous post is now ready for pre-order at the Sovereign Grace Music site. Right now you can sample all the songs and download three songs for free:

O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing

All Hail the Pow’r of Jesus’ Name

Go on over and let me know what you think. The CD should be ready by December.

What do I think? I think I will be ordering enough to be Christmas presents for everyone I know. I think I will be salivating (spiritually, of course) until I can actually play it all the way through, hearing every glorious verse of every glorious song. I think I will be singing along with this CD more than any other that I have (and I really like to sing along).

Bob,

Thank you so much for putting this project together!

I’m listening to it right now, and wow… I don’t know what to be more amazed by… the depth and truth in the lyrics of those hymns, the power of hearing a large group of people singing unto God, or the musical beauty from the spontaneous harmonies and reflecting the creativity of the God who gave us singing. Listening through a pair of noise-canceling, full-audio-spectrum headphones, makes me feel like I’m there!

This album also shows how life-transforming, God-honoring worship does not need a full band or fancy arrangements. What a wonderful decision to make congregational-singing (i.e. the voices of God’s people) the focal point instead of the instrumentation or the arranging.

Thanks again Bob! May His grace uphold you in your ministry

Bob, listening to these songs gave me chills! There is something about simply lifting voices in worship that makes the Lord feel so close! God is so good to remind us that we don’t always need fancy arrangements to glorify Him. Using only our voices can bring glory to His name! Thank you for creating an entire CD to remind us of that. I can’t wait to receive my copy! Blessings!

It sounds fantastic. I’m excited!

I’m particularly looking forward to “My Song Is Love Unknown.” I wasn’t able to be at the conference this year, but through your blog aroudn that time I was introduced to the hymn. I taught it to a vocal octet at our church and we introduced it to our church about three weeks ago. I’m looking forward to hearing 5,000 people sing it with your skillful leadership and piano accompaniment.

Thanks for the care and discernment for this project.

Dear Bob,

Thank you so much for putting together the T4G 2008 music CD. Several men from our church went to the 2008 Conference and were greatly encouraged by it. After listening to the three downloads, which are now on my iPod, the sound of of the thousands of voices praising our Lord and Savior certaninly caused me to long for the day when we will all be together in His presence with the multitude of saints worshipping His greatness. Lord willing, I plan to attend the T4G 2010 Conference. Thank you for your faithfullness in ministry.
Yours in Christ,

Hi Bob

Long-time reader; first-time commenting. Love your work. This album sounds great but it looks like it will only be available on CD. No MP3? I have no problem with paying good money for great resources from Sovereign Grace Music, but as an aussie I’d go broke if I had to pay shipping charges to Sydney for every bit of American music I bought.

I thank God for your songs and your blog and for the wider work of Sovereign Grace Ministries. And for the internet over which I can generally buy albums on MP3.

In Jesus.

Chris,

Thanks for the encouragement. We’ll have MP3s you can download. You just can’t pre-order them…

I’m as excited about this album release as I’ve been for any other of Sovereign Grace’s albums (and that’s saying a lot). We gave out copies of the Psalms album at our fall Men’s Retreat, and I had a couple of older gentlemen kindly let me know it wasn’t exactly their speed. I can’t wait to give them copies of T4G Live and encourage them that it doesn’t matter in what style, with what instruments, we praise the Savior–only that we praise Him. Let’s exult together in the excellencies of Jesus Christ and His glorious salvation! I know this album will be yet another great tool to help our congregation do that.
