Worship Matters — the Book — is Released

Posted by: Bob Kauflin In: —Worship Matters book

wm.jpgCrossway is now shipping copies of my book Worship Matters: Leading Others to Encounter the Greatness of God.

The first review I’ve seen is over at blog.worship.com. They got the title wrong, but hey, it’s a very kind review.

Here’s a portion of what they wrote:

Biblically based and contemporaneous in setting, Worship Matters is a book we believe worship leaders will find both encouraging and challenging. Consider giving a copy to your worship team, pastor, and worship leader. This one is a definite must read.

You’ll have to determine that for yourself. In the mean time, I’d appreciate your prayers that God would use this book to spread the glories of our matchless Savior.

This is exciting!!! and did you get someone to translate it in French? I’ll try to get the book as soon as possible, read it, and then encourage strongly that lady I was talking to you about to translate it. But it’s still a prayer request!
God will provide.

Hey Bob,

I’m excited that your book is finally pusblished and can’t wait to get a chance to read and study it. One quick question: do you have any idea when it’ll be available directly in the UK? If it’s more than a week or two, I’d want to get it shipped from the States.

Bob-

Just ordered your book through Crossway and currently on page 31 of the PDF version that they provided with the purchase. You already have me thinking and evaluating….something I should have done several years ago. Thanks for your wisdom and taking the time out to write this book.

Bob,

I just received my copy in the mail from Crossway. I’m certain that the Lord will use it as an encouragement in my life and in the lives of many worship pastors and churches. Praise the Lord for this great resource!

Hi Bob - congratulations on the book. You may not be able to answer this, but do you know if there is a release date for the UK?

Alan,

This is what Crossway told me about Worship Matters being released in the UK:

“It looks like there is an initial order for IVP UK that will be shipped shortly, but we aren’t sure whether it is by air or by sea. There will be others who place orders over time, but I’m not sure about the two week time frame.”

Hope that’s helpful. Thanks for asking!

Smell that? It’s my breath. And it’s baited — can’t wait to read it.

I will take a mint in the mean time.

Matthew,

I think it’s “bated” not “baited.” Unless you’re trying to catch a fish.

In any case, thanks for the meaningful and encouraging comments. Still having a hard time believing it’s actually published.

Bob, great book. I recently finished reading it, and I posted a review here: http://www.hantla.com/blog/pivot/entry.php?id=570

Our music team will likely soon be reading it. We’ve gotten it into the hands of our worship/music leader already.

Thanks again for all your labors that have already proven fruitful.

Jacob,

Thanks for taking the time to review the book in such a thorough and kind way. You’re a fast reader.

And thanks for passing it on to your musicians. That’s exactly what I pray will happen.

Bob,

I am halfway through the book and I have been so convicted and encouraged and inspired all that the same time. I truly appreciate the call constantly bring our people back to the gospel which is why we are there. I am looking forward to finishing the book and I am eagerly anticipating Worship God 08 as we delight in God together.

Bob,

Thank you for taking what was in a lot of our heads but didn’t know how to say - and saying it better than we ever could have. We are walking through this book with our pastoral staff and worship staff and finding it incredably beneficial!

I am posting reviews and personal thoughts of those meetings here at http://www.thinkworship.com .

Thanks for your ministry, your insight and your passion to see the church get a biblical perspective of worship!

Bob:

Thank you so much for writing a book on how worship matters. We just had a sermon on what is “worship” in our church and I became inspired to help lead my praise band on how we can let our congregation experience true, authentic worship.

I ordered a book a few weeks ago off of amazon and I absolutely loved it. I thought it was so great that I ordered copies for my entire praise team and we will be studying it together over the next few weeks.

Thank you for your ministry.
