Sovereign Grace CDs and Books for Ridiculous Prices — and Free Shipping

So yesterday I’m sitting in my office and I receive an email from Pat Ennis, the executive director of Sovereign Grace Ministries. It’s brief and to the point. He says he wants to reduce the price of our Pursuit of Godliness books and all our CDs to $6 and offer free domestic shipping. For a full month. He also says to come by his office if I want to appeal his plan. So I stop by and find him talking with Tommy Hill, the financial wizard of Sovereign Grace. I appeal that maybe we should consider $7. Nope. Not enough of a reduction in price. In fact, Pat ended up dropping the price of the books another dollar.

The bottom line is this. From February 1 through February 29, Sovereign Grace will be selling all our CDs for six dollars. With free shipping. In addition, we’ll be selling our Pursuit of Godliness books for five dollars, also with free shipping. Of course you can download the CDs and not worry about shipping (great idea if you’re outside the U.S.).That means that for the month of February you can buy Valley of Vision, In a Little While, Savior, Worship God Live, You and You Alone, Upward, Songs for the Cross Centered Life, and every other Sovereign Grace produced CD for just six dollars. CD or download. As many as you want or can give away. You’ll also be able to purchase Why Small Groups, How Can I Change, and our three other Pursuit of Godliness books for five bucks. In addition, we’ll be selling our two-volume songbook, with over 250 songs, for $40. And that’s not all (suddenly I feel like a Ronco knives infomercial). During February all our piano scores can be downloaded for $1. Full sets will only be $6.

Why are we doing this? A few reasons. The primary mission of Sovereign Grace Ministries is to serve Sovereign Grace pastors who are giving their lives to build Gospel-centered local churches. We want to do everything we can to help them serve the people they lead. Providing Christ-exalting, biblically faithful music and books in one of the ways we can do that. We also want to make it as easy as possible for other churches and individuals to have access to what we produce. We figured that lowering the price of everything we’ve done is a step in that direction. We also want more people to hear our music and read our books because we produced them to encourage God-glorifying, Gospel-centered, Spirit-empowered living.

Basically, it makes us happy to get our materials out for the lowest price possible. That’s why we decided last August to give away all our messages. So mark your calendar (or whatever you keep your schedule on). February 2008. All our CDs, six bucks. All our Pursuit of Godliness books, five bucks. Did I mention free shipping in the U.S.?

Don’t wait on this because these prices are only while the supplies last (and yes, we do have more than ten CDs in stock).

And feel free to help us spread the word.

  3. Hey Bob!!! Do you think the people that live outside the US could get a discount for the shipping? for example pay the difference of the domestic cost? (example 3$ for shipping in the US, 7$ in Canada, 3$ discount, leaving a total of 4$)
    That would be awesome :D

  5. Thank you so much for this Bob - you guys really *do* care more about trying to earn profit. You guys are more concerned about our hearts being strengthened by grace, resisting and weakening our sin, and running hard and fast to the Savior!

F.Y.I. christianbook.com is seeling the entire 7 volumes of Luther’s sermons for only $35 (excluding S/H)! For you money savers, that’s 90% SAVINGS! =D

  8. Gabe and other Canadian friends,

I’m working on the shipping issue. Right now the resource department can do this: they can give you free shipping on all MP3 downloads.

    Not very impressive, I know.

    I’ll keep working on them…

  10. Dear Canadian Cousins,

Here is how to get free shipping.

    1. Marry an American.

    2. Ship all your stuff to their relatives.

    3. Arrange a visit to said American relatives.

    4. Stay long enough to not pay duty on return trip.

    5. Come home with goodies.

Depending on where the relatives live, all it costs is a little gas and putting up with the dog.

  13. Alright, Paul Martin. I think I may have to write a post on 10 Reasons Canadian girls are better than American girls (OK… maybe I won’t). Even if we aren’t privy to the fantastic price reductions Sovereign Grace Music is offering, I’ll take my discounted downloads and my Canadian gal any day.

  14. Bob,

    One clarification,

All the CDs are for US6.00?

    or

    EACH CD for US$6.00?

    Comment by Andy — January 29, 2008 @ 6:21 pm

  15. Andy,

Let me clarify. EACH CD is US$6.00.

    Hope that’s not a disappointment…

  16. bob:
i grabbed Valley of Vision and Worship God Live a week ago… i also downloaded as many of the worship lectures/teachings as i could get my hands on and have been listening since.

i’m a worship leader at a small baptist church outside of Boston, while my husband attends seminary (GCTS)… the church is transitioning to a more blended style of worship, and its a blessing to have some teachings on worship to hold on to as i work through the worship wars with this church.

i’m also a hobby songwriter, and i LOVED some of the ‘06 teachings on songwriting! What a blessing to offer all of this to us.

    THANK YOU!

  17. Bob, you couldn’t get a special deal for international shipping? Too bad! It cost me 20$ for shipping!

    Comment by Gabriel Gagnon — February 14, 2008 @ 4:22 pm

  18. Bob — does SGM offer band charts any more? Or just the piano scores? I’m a chart kinda guy…. :-)
