Bob:
I hope you and Julie had a wonderful time on your vacation. I wanted to say that I and my friends were usually sitting near Julie at the Worship God '06 conference, and it was a blessing to see how totally given to worship she is - which is wonderful considering all the details of the week that COULD have been a distraction to her. (I was the blond head right behind her hands in the photo!)
God has surely been good to you both!

In Christ,
Donna

How precious! :) Happy Belated Anniversary to you and your wife! Hope you two are having a fantastic & memorable time in Europe! May the Lord richly bless you both as you continue to faithfully serve Him and be committed to each other.

I would like to thank you also for your article, "Blogging to Worship God." It's wonderful and insightful! My main purpose of blogging is to be salt & light for the Lord and to point people to Jesus.

By the way, we also homeschool our kids (13, 7, 4). Homeschooling is one of the best decisions we've ever made.

Dad, thank you so much for loving mom the way you do! And I also agree 110% with what you've said in this post. I feel unbelievably privileged and undeserving to have such a God-glorifying mom and best friend! Mom, as I begin my Senior year, I am so grateful to God for your investment into my life all these years, and I can't wait till I marry the man I was designed to serve so that I can hopefully live out half of the example you have set for me.

I miss both of you SO much and I hope you're having the time of your lives!!! I love you!

What a wonderful post! As a 16 year old young woman, this has greatly blessed me. I seek to be a Proverbs 31 woman, and Julie is such a great example. I pray that I can be such a blessing to my future husband aswell.

Would you mind if I post part of this post on my blog? It would be a post for girls and a great example of a Godly woman.

I seek to be a Proverbs 31Proverbs 31
[31:1]The words of King Lemuel. An oracle that his
mother taught him:
[2]What are you doing, my son? What are you doing, son of
my womb?
What are you doing, son of my vows?
[3]Do not give your strength to women,
your ways to those who destroy kings.
[4]It is not for kings, O Lemuel,
it is not for kings to drink wine,
or for rulers to take strong drink,
[5]lest they drink and forget what has been decreed
and pervert the rights of all the afflicted.
[6]Give strong drink to the one who is perishing,
and wine to those in bitter distress;
[7]let them drink and forget their poverty
and remember their misery no more.
[8]Open your mouth for the mute,
for the rights of all who are destitute.
[9]Open your mouth, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy.
[10] An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
[11]The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
[12]She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
[13]She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.
[14]She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
[15]She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.
[16]She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
[17]She dresses herself with strength
and makes her arms strong.
[18]She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
[19]She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
[20]She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
[21]She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
[22]She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
[23]Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
[24]She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
[25]Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
[26]She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
[27]She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
[28]Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
[29]"Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all."
[30]Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
[31]Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.

happy anniversary! i will add my voice of gratitude for your wife and you Bob. i would not have such a wonderful wife myself if not for the way in which the two of you so faithfully raised your daughter! Julie's relentless pursuit in training, teaching, and correcting Megan gave me a wife who is in many ways just like her, passionately following the Savior. Bob thanks for you excellent example and picture of how Christ loves his church and gave himself up for it. i can not think of a better earthly example than yours, even if you think you fall woefully short... i'm still gonna be following your example!

ps. ummm as i recall there was someone there to help you with the footers and main beams of that deck... i'll just throw that out there in response to this statement: "I'm not totally worthless"

you are the best father-in-law ever!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! But, now, I have a TOTALLY side-bar question... What sort of camera did you use for that shot? It is such a great photo - so clear, so crisp - is that a digital? And, if so, may I ask the model and ballpark price? Okay, back to the party - you have reached a GREAT milestone that many today (including Christians) won't face... well done!
