Where Have All the Glad Fans Gone?

Okay, okay. Maybe I set the bar too high.

We gave away 50 Worship God Live CD’s to pastors and worship leaders who would review them on their blog by June 15. But for those who didn’t fit into that category, I offered to send a CD to the first 20 people who could correctly answer questions about GLAD, my former group. To my knowledge, only one person has gotten a perfect score from Worship God Live Giveaway #2. Congratulations to Jean from Delaware. You are one of the three GLAD fans who read this blog. As for the rest of you, it’s obvious that my original perceptions were accurate. Only my family would know these answers.

So here are the original questions:

1.    What two colleges did the four original members of GLAD attend?
2.    What GLAD song mentions Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia?
3.    How many recordings did GLAD make before The A Cappella Project in 1988?
4.    Who first recorded the GLAD Christmas song “In the First Light?”
5.    What original GLAD song was recorded by Debby Boone?

I’m happy to report that Russell gives some clues in the comments on my previous post. And if that isnt’ enough help, here are some more clues. I didn’t want to do this, but I have no other choice.

#1. One of the colleges is on GLAD’s website The other college is the school I graduated from.
#2. Appropriately, this is the second song on GLAD’s second album.
#3. Someone thought GLAD recorded 14 albums before the A Cappella Project. I don’t know which GLAD he was thinking of.
#4. As Russell point sout, a Google search on this blogsite will deliver the answer for this one.
#5. This answer is not Be Ye Glad, but that’s a great guess. Debby Boone did record that, and it was a GLAD song, but it wasn’t an original GLAD song. It was written by Michael Kelly Blanchard. Debby recorded the song I’m referring to in 1980, and you can find the CD listed here.

Okay, enough clues. I still have 19 Worship God Live CD’s that I’d like to give away. Send your answers to bob@worshipmatters.com. Even if you’re not a GLAD fan. I won’t be offended.

Uh, you’re wrong on that one, dad. Of the five questions, I knew what college you went to…that’s it. I guess your family isn’t a very reliable source either. : ) I love you so much!!!

    p.s. don’t post this. = )

Actually, I’m a fan of Glad. I’d be happy to win any/all GLAD CDs that you would be giving away.

Do you have any extra CDs collecting dust somewhere?

    8-)

Hi Bob. I’m new to your blog, so I can’t get in on any of the questions. I just wanted to let you know that I discovered you as I was researching a paper for my seminary class on worship and idolatry. I really appreciate your thoughts on that in your series “Idolatry on Sunday Morning”.

I am a worship leader at a small Methodist church here in Illinois. My background is piano pedagogy and now I am pursuing a masters in Worship Studies.

    Thanks.
