Hey Bob,

Just found your blog the other day, and I'm excited about the material there. Thanks for your ministry. I was checking out your links and found that your link to doxologue actually links back to your own blog. I did find doologue through Google though. thought you might like to know. I tried to email you, but for some reason the address did not work.

I think that it is helpful to try to be the most discerning regarding our own actions and to be as gracious as possible when analyzing the actions of others.

Dan, I think that these three statements are all true:
1) God sent His Son into the world to die for our sins
2) Jesus freely laid down His life of His own choice
3) Jesus was killed by the actions of sinful men (Acts 2:23; 3:14-15; 4:10)

I had read several articles in several blogs about the whole "Draw Me Close" conversation, along with some similar posts about another song. I had a post that I had been ruminating on for some time, but the statements in some of these posts (and their comments) solidified my thoughts and out came this (which is actually part of a series): lies that will kill you: God can’t ...

Hi Bob,

On the subject of this, I just noticed something yesterday in a song that I love. I'm really keen on biblically accurate songs, and I've always used "In Christ Alone".

But I noticed yesterday the line, 'Light of the World by darkness slain'. What do you make of that?

It seems to be suggesting that sin or the devil killed Christ. But I think the Bible teaches that God Himself killed Christ in punhisment for human sin. Is this line theologically weak?

What's your take on this?
